Privacy policy

This site, cfctr.com, promotes the book Catching flights? Catch these RULES by Lisa Nelson. This page says what we collect and what we do with it. Questions or requests: catchtheserules@hotmail.com.

What we collect

• Reviews. Your name, email, optional city, star rating and review text. Your email is never shown. If a review is approved, the site shows your first name, last initial, city (if you gave one), rating and text.
• Abuse prevention. A salted hash of your IP address, used to limit spam and repeat submissions. We do not store your raw IP address in our database.
• Server logs. Our host keeps standard request logs. Our own application logs record what happened, not your full email or review text.

Cookies and tracking

We do not run advertising cookies or analytics on this site today. Site administrators sign in with Firebase Authentication, which sets its own sign-in storage for them only.

Who handles your data

• Vercel hosts the site.
• Google Firebase (Firestore) stores reviews.
• Microsoft Outlook (over SMTP) sends our review notification emails.
• Upstash, if enabled, stores hashed IP counters for rate limiting.
• When you press Shop Now you leave this site. The store you land on has its own privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

Published reviews stay up until you ask us to remove them. Rejected reviews are kept for our moderation records.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or to remove a published review, by emailing catchtheserules@hotmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
